Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Dana is the only female black Canadian comic on the circuit. In her native country she was voted ‘Best Discoveries’ by Now Magazine (Canada) in 2006 and has since been included in their “Best Of” issues three years in a row, easily making her one of Canada’s hottest emerging young comedians. Since moving this side of the pond less than twelve months ago, Dana continues to draw her material from her diverse lifestyle, her gay friends and her crazy Jamaican family. She has been gigging endlessly and was nominated for Best Club Comic at the Chortle Awards 2012, Best International Act (alongside Chris Rock and Reg D Hunter) and Funniest Momment at the Black Comedy Awards 2011 and recently appeared on Most Annoying People 2011 (BBC3) and on Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC3) this spring.
